Dr. Didier Pollefeyt holds a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy, a Licentiate Degree in Religious
Studies and a Master's and Doctoral Degree in Theology. He has written two studies on the Jewish
post-holocaust thinking of Rubenstein and Fackenheim, both of which were awarded by the Foundation
Auschwitz, Brussels. In 1995 he finished his doctorate on 'Post-Holocaust Ethics and Theology.'
His work Religious Teaching of the Holocaust was awarded by the Belgian 'Prize of Peace'. He is
working now as an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Theology of the Katholieke Universiteit
Leuven (K.U. Leuven), Belgium, teaching courses on the Theology of Jewish-Christian Relations,
Religion, Religious Education and Topics in Religious Sciences. He is Director of the Center for
Peace Ethics of the K.U. Leuven and holds the Chair of Academic Teacher's Training in Religion of
