Doris Bergen (Ph.D. University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, 1991) examines German and Central European history in the 20th century, especially the Nazi era, the Holocaust, and European women's history. Her publications include Twisted Cross: The German Christian Movement in the Third Reich (North Carolina, 1996) and numerous articles on Christian antisemitism, military chaplains, and issues related to gender and ethnicity in World War II. She is a member of the Academic Advisory Board of the Center for Advanced Holocaust Studies at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, DC. She has been a fellow of the Kroc Institute at University of Nore Dame since 1999 and in 2007 was named Full Professor at University of Toronto. Ontario, Canada
