Anselm Kiefer
Anselm Kiefer. Contemporary German artist, born 1945, who now lives in France and who monumental work attempts to work through the German past of the Holocaust. The series which focuses on "Margarete" and "Shulamit" are references to Paul Celan's famous poem, "Todesfuge/Death Fugue."
