Lisetta Rose, a Gypsy, was born on September 16,1874, Her husband, Anton Rose, owned a theater, and in 1937 the socalled "racial laws" prohibited him from continuing to operate it. Lisetta and Anton fled to Schwerin, Germany, where they were arrested by the Gestapo in 1943 and sent to Auschwitz.
In the beginning of 1944, Lisetta was transferred to Ravensbrück, where she was murdered. Her daughter, Martha Rose, was taken to Ravensbrück in 1942 and was then brought to Bergen-Belsen, where she died.
