Voice of Innocence
Voice of Innocence
I in Turkana land, Kenya!
Looked up to the hills, for a place.
The east Africa's Great Rift Valley
Waterways to the lake side swamps
The vanishing point of desert roads
Only modern road I traveled for the first time
The gigantic mountain's peaks
Saw the world's vegetation represented
The colorful tidal glacier
Home of the hailstones
The pouring water falls
Origin of the moving rivers
Raised my eyes to the ocean
Mother Victoria, residence of aquatic lives
Not over looking the provident towns
And cultures of the dwellers
And didn't get just a place
The place I want to live.
I, naturalized Sudanese!
Born in the nasty anxiety
The mysterious circumstances
In the border line cases
Had not seen the nation states
The squeaky clean water of Nile
That supports homeland domestic life
The precious equatorial rain forest ranges
Where plenty of tropical fruits ripen
The grass land in the oil field
Where beautiful flowers blossomed
The culture of own people
The language of own people
And life enhancing help of them
Only likeness of my black skin
The color of the soils of the place
Convinced that I belong to the place
The place I want to live.
I heard the echoes of hope!
That SPLA/SPLM
And government negotiations
Finally coming to fruition
Therefore,
The flag of the blacks
Displayed in the capital Khartoum
To repatriate them
Repatriate the homeless,
The lost ones,
The displaced,
The disables
And my fellow innocents
To be born again Sudanese
To see the freedom
To use the resources
And to see the place
The place I want to live.
I appreciated the peace talks
The meaningfulness of the talks
The international community intervention
The peace that is prevailing,
The Nuba Mountain top
The north
Down to imaging valleys
The south
And hope my brothers
The Franco phones,
The great lake,
And the horn of Africa
Dance with me
Dance to the tune of peace
Sing with me
Sing the union song of peace
For me to see the great Sudan!
The place I want to live.
