New Genesis

I call it peace during our time
We have been waiting,
Waiting for the day like this
When the sun rises with brightness
From the horizon
It was clean and clear morning
The morning dew rise up
It was precipitating
Green grass germinating
Exploring their greenness
Birds flying above the sky
Singing their sweet lullaby
Animals were moving in peace
No fear of human danger
The sign of peace is in the air
I call it peace during our time
A disabled man, his leg cut off during the war,
Took his walking stick
On the left hand and ashes on the right hand,
He stops and stares at the horizon
Talking to the ancestors.

Blessing the new beginning
Long sound of the distance
Winnowing ashes blessing the new morning
The remarkable unity of the old kingdom,
Cush*
These people once divided by power grabbing
And wealth acquiring
Has come this time to the table of diplomacy
Reconciliation on top of the agenda
Let there be walking and drinking together again
Let peace come to ourselves as we call it today
Let there be no burning down of our own houses
No more raiding of cattle, abducting of girls
Sudan, we came from the genesis
The same mother
The same father
That's why we are extended family
Let new genesis come mark time
In Sudan history and we call it "New genesis"
"Wgucg" means new beginning.
